Our Mission
Skaneateles Talk is a free, community website, designed and hosted by Skaneateles Design, a web design company located in Skaneateles, NY.
The singular mission of Skaneateles Talk is to promote the village and town of Skaneateles, its businesses, community members, and others who wish to share stories or events relating to Skaneateles.
We offer the following services:
- A free of charge Internet publishing service for stories and events relating to Skaneateles, with high search engine positioning and Internet traffic.
- A Skaneateles community discussion board.
- A Skaneateles Business Directory hosted in wiki format.

Think of Skaneateles Talk as your Internet Press Agent in Skaneateles! Publishing your story or event on the Skaneateles Talk website increases your chances of being found when an interested party searches at one of the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN).

Submitting Your Event or Story to Skaneateles Talk
The concept is simple:
- You submit your event or story to us.
- We publish it free of charge.
- You take advantage of our high search engine ranking, and high website traffic!
Event or Story Submission From Our Home Page
The easiest way to submit your event or story to Skaneateles Talk is by clicking the big blue button on our home page.
After clicking the big blue button, type your story w/ optional image into the short form and submit it.
We then review your event or story and publish it quickly!
It’s that simple.
Other Ways to Submit Your Event or Story
There are a couple other ways to submit your events or stories to Skaneateles Talk:
- Just as easy: You can simply email your event or story to Christine Briel at info@skaneatelestalk.com. Just type up your story in an email, optionally attach images, and email to Christine. She will review your story and publish it quickly.
Slightly more advanced: You can sign up at the Skaneateles Talk website using the “Sign up” link in the right sidebar. Once signed up and logged in, you can compose your story in the website’s Admin Panel (you access the Admin Panel using the “Admin” link on the right sidebar). This is a more advanced submission method, but it may be preferable if you are familiar with composing content on the web. Again, once your event or story is submitted, Christine will review it and publish quickly.
Strategic Alliances
Skaneateles Talk is actively working to create strategic alliances, both regionally and outside of CNY, that will continue to extend the exposure of content submitted to Skaneateles Talk.
Currently, when an event or story is published at Skaneateles Talk, we notify all major search engines of its existence, and this usually results in immediate availability in the search engine results at Google (Google is the quickest with regard to making new content immediately available in its search results), and fast availability in the search results of other major search engines, such as Yahoo and MSN.
Syracuse.com also publishes Skaneateles Talk articles in its Upstate Blogs feature.
We are also constantly working to form other strategic relationships with Internet publishers who can extend our reach. What this means for you is greater exposure for every event or story that you publish at Skaneateles Talk.
